No direct sunlight on the equipment – helping to prevent vinyl surfaces becoming dangerously hot.

Why Can Sunshine Be a Problem for Soft Play?

We all love a sunny day, but direct sunlight and soft play equipment don't always make a good combination.

The vinyl covering on soft play shapes and some mats can become very hot when exposed to direct sunlight. For little ones who are crawling, climbing and playing, their hands, knees and feet can come into direct contact with these surfaces.

Even if the equipment doesn't initially feel particularly warm, temperatures can increase as the sun moves throughout the day. It may be set up in some shade, but the sun moves during the day and before you know it, the play area is in direct sun.

That's one of the reasons we don't recommend setting up our soft play packages outdoors in direct sunlight.

What Happens If It Rains?

Unfortunately, the British weather doesn't always cooperate with our party plans!

If it rains, our soft play equipment cannot be set up outdoors. Soft play needs to remain clean and dry, and wet surfaces can create additional safety concerns.

That means an outdoor party can potentially involve last minute changes or disappointment if the weather turns.

Choosing an indoor venue removes that worry completely.

What About Outdoor Parties?

Outdoor parties can be fantastic, and there are certainly advantages to having lots of outdoor space for children to run around.

However, when you're specifically hiring soft play, the weather needs to be considered carefully.

Sunshine can make vinyl surfaces extremely hot, while rain means the equipment cannot be used outdoors.
